Our Purpose
Aliento del Viento builds bridges between organizations to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and lived experiences, addressing the daily challenges faced by people with disabilities.
Reflection: Who is disabled?
A person with a physical “limitation”? Mental? Psychological? Social?
But isn’t it possible that this “limitation” actually creates diversity? And doesn’t diversity give us the opportunity to learn and grow? So why not find ways to embrace diversity and flourish together?
At Aliento del Viento, we challenge the traditional view of disability by recognizing it as a source of unique perspectives and strength. We actively include people with disabilities in organizing our international association, creating activities accessible to everyone where people “with” and “without” disabilities can meet and connect naturally.
We collaborate with non-profit organizations fighting for the integration of those often pushed to society’s margins, working to establish meaningful links between organizations to foster knowledge exchange about the daily challenges and triumphs in the disability community.
Our goal is simple: break down the barriers that separate us and build bridges that unite us, because in diversity we find our greatest potential for growth.
