Support the documentary ‘Verbinding in het Groen’

To make a special documentary about unbearable psychological suffering possible, I started a crowdfunding campaign through Covias (a partnership within mental health care in West Flanders).

It is more than clear that this sensitive topic is close to my heart. From my own periods of deep depression, I know how it feels to no longer see any prospects for the future.

Ten years after my first documentary, Tot in den draai, in which I followed palliative care patients, I will now follow the lives of four people who are struggling with severe psychological suffering. Not only their struggles, but also how they might be able to feel connected again during a five-day retreat in the middle of nature. With each other, with themselves, with life.

At Covias, we hope that the documentary and accompanying retreat “Verbinding in het groen” (Connection in the green) will stimulate and inspire the mental health care landscape to explore new paths of care. In doing so, we are strongly committed to the healing power of nature. 

With Covias, we have already raised €30,000. Our goal is to raise €15,000 through this crowdfunding campaign so that we have the necessary budget. After two weeks, we already have 100 donors and have raised almost €5,000.
