Now is the time to act, later, it will really be TOO late

A UNICEF monitoring study revealed an unprecedented escalation in food deprivation: while in 2020, “only” 13% of children in Gaza were living in food poverty, by July 2024, the figure was between 88% and 95%. Today, due to the siege, 93% of children are at risk of malnutrition, often surviving on just one meal a day.
Since the beginning of the year, more than 9,000 Palestinian children in Gaza have been hospitalized for treatment for acute malnutrition. If aid cannot enter the Gaza Strip without further interruptions or restrictions, approximately 1 million children will live without the basic necessities they need to survive.
Every day that the siege continues, the risk of children literally dying of hunger increases, due to diseases caused by malnutrition and the lack of clean water and medicine.
And every day a child is malnourished, the long-term consequences increase, such as (irreversible) developmental disorders. Not to mention the psychological consequences, of course, assuming they survive the ongoing genocide.
This is why the siege, which is part of the genocide, must end now.
Right now, we can easily do our part to stop it because, thanks to the commitment of organizations like Freedom Flotilla, more and more people are caring about it and taking action that we can join. For example, Fridays For Gaza.
We literally can’t interfere or unblock the situation in Gaza, but we can increase pressure on our governments and give support and visibility to those who can take action in Gaza.

And above all…
We can break the silence!
A silence that will cost the lives of another 930,000 Children of Life in the coming weeks and months if nothing changes! In addition to the 50,000 (and more) already registered due to the “war.”
Children are not (just) their parents’ children, they are Children of Life. And for this, we are all responsible.
